Privacy
This page explains what we keep when you use Sixpence, why, and for how long. It's run by Yehor in Easingwold, North Yorkshire. Questions: yehor.yorkwebsites@gmail.com.
If you contact us
We keep what you send in the contact form (your name, how to reach you and your message) so we can reply. It's deleted automatically after a year, and we never share it or add you to a mailing list.
If you're a wedding guest
- RSVPs: your reply (names, whether you're coming, dietary needs, plus-one, song and message) is only visible to the couple, on their private page. It's used for their wedding and nothing else.
- Photos: before a photo is saved, its location (GPS) and other hidden details such as the phone model and the time it was taken are removed. This happens on your phone and again on our server, so it's done even if your phone couldn't do it. Photos are saved at up to 2560 pixels, not as the untouched original. If we can't remove those details from a file (for example some iPhone HEIC photos), we don't accept it and ask you to try again.
- The couple can see, hide, delete and download the photos. If their album is public, other guests with the link can see photos the couple hasn't hidden.
- Your name on a photo is optional. If you give it, it's shown with your photos.
- Want something removed? Ask the couple, or email us and we'll take it down, usually within 2 days.
How long we keep it
Each wedding's website and album stay online until 12 months after the wedding (the couple's admin page shows the exact dates). Then the site closes to guests, and the couple can still sign in for 30 days to download everything. After that, the wedding's RSVPs, photos and sign-in records are deleted automatically by a daily clean-up, normally within a few days. Nothing is kept in a backup. A couple can ask us to delete everything sooner.
Sign-in links stop working after 15 minutes and sign-in sessions after 30 days.
Where it's stored
On Cloudflare, which hosts the site. Contact form messages are also forwarded to Yehor through Telegram, so we can reply quickly. Guests' RSVPs and photos aren't sent anywhere else. We never sell or share your data.
Cookies
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie is the one that keeps a couple signed in to their own admin page. A guest's name may be remembered on their own phone (not by us) so they don't have to type it twice.
